(9,031 posts)Maybe it is right for the people in our lives to see that good people react to bad things. Of course we could all do better in any situation. But to react to bad things is a teaching moment in itself to those around us. The opposite, not being stressed out about it or even acting happy can give the perception that it was not that big of a deal. Getting upset around those you care about shows them what you care about, what is important to you and hopefully to them. On the flipside, I learned a long time ago that letting someones actions dictate your actions or demeanor lets them win. In doing so they are controlling you. Its not something I can always resist, but knowing that I mostly do resist. If dump wins Tuesday, and I despise even typing that, I will still find the things that make me and those around me happy and I wont get mad or upset. I will just resist.
