... but interesting that the outsourcing was a little earlier in PA. In my mind the downturn in manufacturing and republicans going after the churches all kind of mesh together in the 80s, and the rural areas then became a different animal. Prior to that most who worked in those factories belonged to unions and voted democratic. But perhaps it really was just Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan ... the states I would be most familiar with.

Where I live in Philly (NW) I had 1 canvasser group (I think there were 3 of them) early on
