...and this was supposed to be what happened in 2016, except, he won. The sick, sad thing is that the whole
Trump for President 2016 was simply a branding exercise that went wrong. He was supposed to lose, then make Trump TV or build his Trump Tower in Russia, but he would have raised his profile so much he would be able to start the next level grift (which he did from inside the White House for 4 years). This man had no intention of being President and governing. He is not a Republican. He got pissed off at the W.H. Correspondents' Dinner when Obama roasted him mercilessly and his very fragile ego couldn't take it. The racism is a key part of who he is, as his love for birtherism preceded that of course. His only miscalculation was that he thought that maybe the GOP was made up of people who would draw the line at his awful comments in 2015-2016, but it only made him more popular with the Pre-MAGA base. They loved the racism and the misogyny, couldn't get enough of it, so he kept winning GOP primaries. Seriously, I have always wondered in the back of my mind if this whole thing was simply a branding exercise that went wrong....and America and the world have suffered because of it. Time to turn the page. Vote! Yes, we voted him out in 2020, but as someone said, sometimes you have to flush twice.
