Solo at 73 I don't have the energy to leave the country. Prior to Covid, I thought about relocating to France or Spain or Portugal after my husband died in 2018. But didn't go look see because I didn't want to leave my senior dog for a 6 month trip to try it out.
So, looking ahead, dependent upon Social Security to make my mortgage payment, I have to consider what happens when that goes bellyup in 2033. We know nothing will happen to fix that looming problem in the next four years.
Already this am I'm looking at my budget for what I can cut in order to payoff my mortgage before 2033. I will NEVER order anything else from Amazon, that's for damn sure. No more travel. Reduce clothing and entertainment expense. No additional home improvement projects...and so on.
Time to hunker down.
