In reply to the discussion: Stop. Think. Plan. [View all]JustBeGood
(15 posts)60. Initial thoughts this morning
I have been going over this since aropund 1:00 AM when I saw it slipping away. Thought we survived 2016-2020 (barely) it will be shitty but doable. But keep think of P2025 and how I need to plan now. 76 days....
Broke it down into 3 groups:
HEALTH:
Get any needed vaccines.
Get any health items looked at now.
Routine checkup.
Research home pharmacy solutions
FINANCIAL
Keep stocks or move to FDIC insured?
Keep more cash on hand. Not possible for all.
Buy any items now (TV's appliances etc.) before Tariff's kick in.
Buy rice and flour; staple food items.
Cut out all unneeded expenses, subscriptions.
Car maintenance before Tariffs
SAFETY
Update passport, ID's and any needed 'papers'.
Drive my LGBTQ son to work and back.
Keep him doing remote University.
Buying more ammo (which is scaring me). If it gets that bad....we will move to the UK.
Stay alert to local news, look for trends in hate crimes etc.
Doesn't sound like everyone can, but move to a bluer part of your state if there is one.
Try local Dem headquarters and see about starting a private group to keep in touch.
Moving out of your state only deletes our votes and the electoral college numbers, same with moving out of country.
Sorry this is pretty dark.

A great way to do that (resist, that is) is to FIND YOUR NEAREST INDIVISIBLE GROUP!!!

You can live there for a good portion of the year I believe (maybe up to eight or so months)...

I worked for someone who survived that, but only because her parents had sent her off to Greece...

Right, plenty of blame to go around with a bunch left over for us all to share if we're so inclined.

Well, that's nice for the people who are healthy enough, and have enough $$ to leave

I hope Biden & Co. had plans ready to deal with this situation if it happened.

I delighted I live here. Last time we were quick to make laws of support for our citizens.
