I see this differently. I'm disgusted, sure. I am wondering just how much damage they will do--we will be contributing to climate change now instead of trying to halt it. He will remove all regulations so our planes will be (even more) unsafe, as will be cars and other things that require some form of quality control. Yes, all this and so much more is going on.
But not in my house. My house is a republican/Taliban-free zone. We are in our 70's and financially fine. We don't travel, we barely drive anywhere but 4 miles to the grocery store (a tank of gas lasts forever). We clean our own house, mow our own lawn. We don't eat that much. Our lives in this house will not (I hope and plan) change much because of this. We are in a small MAGAt-infested town in WNC, but fairly isolated up a one-way dirt road about two tenths of a mile long. Our daily activities do not in any way depend on or reflect the government beyond what everyone else's does. I refuse to give in to this. I will continue to read, knit, watch movies, write email, and do the dreaded housework. My husband will continue to do yardwork, tend to the chickens, read, and play an iPad game.
I think perspective is important. While I enjoy the view of the sand around me, I will remain aware of what is happening above-ground. But this is not going to kill me.
