This was a conscious choice for my wife and I. She grew up in Missouri, I grew up in Arizona, and we spent 23 years of our lives in Texas, which became increasingly intolerable, even in Houston. And in spite of all of the bashing we get, there is a stream of people from Texas moving up this way. Well we have better wages and job growth for one thing. We have freedom for another. And down the hall in my building, one of our new neighbors is a Palestinian, a medical doctor originally from the West Bank, who is a gynecologist, top rated, from Baylor medical school. He is part of a whole practice that has come here from Texas.
