GOP capitalized on it.

In 2016, President Obama was pushing trans bathrooms. It didn't play well in the south in particular. I firmly believe HRC would have won if we had waited for 2017 for her to push it while in office.

So here we are in 2024 and the GOP grabbed a similar issue, same subject, and ran with it. Why should we be surprised? I know we only try to energize our base, and LGBTQ is part of our base and deserves equality as much as anyone, but it is not a winning issue for us at this time.

I suppose I'm not allowed to say that. But it's meant constructively as an observation and analysis.
