(44,805 posts)156. You apparently lack a basic level of understanding of the Constitution.
The president can't "fire" Supreme Court justices. The only way they can be removed is through impeachment and conviction. And, no, the immunity decision doesn't allow the President to remove them. It merely means that if he tried and doing so violated some criminal law, he couldn't be prosecuted. But his action would still be unconstitutional and unlawful act and would be nullified by the courts in a nanosecond.

OP
It would be sweet, but gaming the system is their thing, not ours. A dad pardoning his son, sure.

The Supreme Court says a President can do what he wants...we don't have to follow the rules

There should be a requirement that DUers try to understand the immunity decision before they post about it.

The problem is that he can't be prosecuted while president and after seems to be too difficult.

You know what? You're right. I stand corrected. Let's go whole hog and gerrymander, register non-citizens,....

EXACTLY. Biden should pardon every Democrat in the US government, and every comedian Trump hates.

I think we aim for mid-terms, reevaluate some issues, and forget about useless stunts.

That would be cool, even if the only thing it means is that it renders all of his 45-47 swag invalid.

DUers keep posting ideas for what Joe should do that Joe would never in a million years do.

Would forever preclude the possibility of a Republican being the first woman President

Hunter should be pardoned, but how About you let Joe decide to finish out the term he won.

Stick Harris with a very short term as a lame duck best an incoming authoritarian administration?

Clarify please? Because it sounds like you are suggesting President Biden create an incentive for assassination.

Fine. First fire 5 SCOTUS for cause, the remaining 4 decide it follows current law.

Physically incarcerating them would be unlawful and blocked/reversed immediately. So they wouldn't resign.

Huh? The justices that you think can be summarily removed aren't going to be removed.

Wow. Time machine? Seal Team 6 secretly removes them, they're moved to a secret spot. ...

He said he wouldn't pardon HSB. He could grant him clemency and still keep his word. n/t

HSB can speed it along. DJT won't give him clemency or a pardon. That is for sure. n/t

I agree to Hunter's pardon; TFG is getting off on his crimes, no reason Biden's son shouldn't as well.
