(18,271 posts)are that f*cking stupid that they didn't even understand / believe the facts of his depravity.
#2 is REALLY hard to deal with. I've never really subscribed to "you can't fix stupid" - but it isn't easy.
I started to write about #1, but no. I would get alerted for "right wing talking points" or something. The gist is that there are some issues that are BIG for many people, but the Democratic party hasn't figured out - or doesn't want to figure out - an effective way to address people's concerns, in a way that is seen and believed. I know very well that Biden did some good stuff in these areas, and I told people when I could. But the overall outreach was not good.
Personally I don't think policy would ever justify voting for someone as awful as Trump. I try to put the shoe on the other foot - if we had a Trump-like person on our side, and the opponent was someone like Mike Pence - what would I do? Well first of all, a Trump-like person would never be nominated by Democrats - I heartily believe this! - so this is really a thought experiment only. And I guess I can't say at DU that I wouldn't vote for the Dem if this happened? But I think most of us here would have the same answer I would, and I will leave it at that.
