As we try to perk up and grin, it helps to realize that, well, let's face it, Kamala is female. Right in the middle of this incredible upsurge of hate against women, we ran a woman. A highly competent, experienced female. Whether we like it or not, many, many men don't want a female as a President. We are out of step with the rest of the world.
"We stood by our cotton bales and didn't say a thing." We now have to work tirelessly, quietly and sharply to undo even more rat fuckery that will be heaped on us. We have to figure out how to resist. Being resilient is at the forefront of the resistance. It won't be overnight, and it will be by inches.
We might not have to do much of anything, because Trump et al. is going to shaft everyone. I'll never, ever forget how he made the comment in 2016 that he didn't need his base anymore, because he had won. They shouldn't expect any mercy from him in any respect. Wait until they experience that. Surprise! Kiss your income and healthcare goodbye! EVERYONE.
Honestly, it seems like we can't trust anybody. People like to make you feel guilty if you are depressed over the outcome, or if you're Pollyanna about it. You are entitled to your feelings without criticism. There are different days, and one day you're down, and the next day you have talked your way out of it. Pace yourself.
We have to stick together.
