Wear black - Easy enough to do
Do not go to work - DNA, I'm retired
Do not buy anything / either in person or on/line. - Doable
Do not purchase gas for days prior or after - Also doable
Do not send your children to school. - Another DNA, my only "child" is 39 years old lol
Do not watch the inauguration - Never planned to; wild horses couldn't make me (didn't watch the 1st one, either)

My participation would come down to wearing black, not buying stuff, and not watching something I wasn't going to watch anyway. (Also, if I'm not going to buy anything whatsoever, I might as well stay home. That means no one is going to see me, in which case, there doesn't seem to be much point in dressing all in black.)

If anyone else finds this meaningful, by all means, go for it! I'm not sure it would be worth it for me personally, but that's just me!
