(6,159 posts)52. I grew up in a small town in Arizona.
And when I was growing up, 60's and 70's, it was more Democratic party than GOP. But as it grew, the influx of civil service employees at a military base, and of older people moving there to retire flipped it in the early 80' to GOP. District represented for years by Democrat Mo Udall, moderate Republican Jim Kolbe, and then Gabby Giffords. Looks like Juan Ciscomani, the Republican, may be in trouble now.
