12. I haven't looked at the stats on knife crime in the US

but I would be shocked if any city had 15,000+ in a year. Shootings, though - yes, there are a lot in many large cities. In Chicago, alone, about 20 are shot every weekend. When I lived in LA, drive byes were a fact of life. I even witnessed a shoot out, once.
