6. They weren't - they were "feeling" - feeling down.

Ennui, stress, tired, distracted, intimidated, or just didn't feel voting would make a difference.
Some of them can't be bothered to vote because they couldn't make the time, or they weren't near a polling place, or they just forgot -to mail in their ballots, to get up in time to vote before their shift started.
Some didn't have transportation or enough money for transportation.
Some people were alone. Or depressed.
I know, weak excuses. The other side has them, too. But apparently, not as many alone people who aren't able to make it to the polls.

I'm looking at Dems who registered to vote because they found themselves signing a petition a couple years back, or they were more enthusiastic 20 years ago, or they were registered when they got their driver's license but never voted.

There are people registered to vote because it was easy to register, but voting takes more than 5 minutes, and it involves time thinking and making a choice about the future. That's just too much for some folks.

Especially the lost people who find the Democrats won't let them die in the streets just because Democrats recognize not everyone has the same amount of emotional strength, mental or physical health to do what needs to be done sometimes.
Especially those still suffering from Long Covid or other diseases that affect their rational thinking or motivation to just move.

You can't force people to do what they don't want to do or feel up to doing, they're the type that will go along with their own business until they're staring down a tangible, physical threat. And even then, about a quarter of the population will still blank out in panic or stress.
