What the article says sounds plausible, though even in Massachusetts Trump did better than he did in 2020. The maps on the NY Times that use red or blue arrows to show the change in the vote from 2020 to 2024 seem pretty consistent. Across the country, it is mostly red arrows.

Given that Trump tried to overthrow the government rather than leave office the last time, that's fucking insane, but it seems to have actually happened.
