(4,884 posts)related only in the sense that both pertain to the party, but about different aspects of the party. I agree that lack of leadership can feel troubling, but I don't see how spilling the beans about possible plans that could work against this coup demonstrates wise leadership. Likewise, soothing words from a leader with nothing to back it up wouldn't be good leadership, either.
It has been two weeks. I don't expect things to be as pulled together as we would like in such a short time. They are just people, too. They were as shocked as we were. It takes time to heal from that, regroup, and rethink.
Kamala has been quiet, and has gone to Hawaii to rest. She needs that. I don't fault her one bit for doing that. I've seen statements from Hakeem Jeffries about the House races. Chuck Schumer is doing his best to ram through as many Democratic judges as possible. Biden just made a very important move in regard to the war in Ukraine. Jasmine Crockett lit into House Republicans brilliantly (as she always is) today. I could think of more if I tried, but I'm tired.
I have hope. Most of the time anyway. But I'm not expecting miracles. I might hope for miracles, but I'm not expecting them.
