I think he wants sanctions lifted and to save face in Ukraine... and have a new land buffer between Russia and NATO.

As someone who has been to Russia AND Ukraine... and around the region...

Let me tell you about Estonia.

The east is majority Russian. Very Russian... it's industrial, dirty, has high crime and lots of poverty...

The West, like Tallin... sparkling jewels of Central Europe.

Ukraine will actually be better off without the Donbas and Crimea.

Lviv is incredibly European... the East... is NOT.

Mark my words, in 25 years Ukraine will be an EU member and be highly successful.
