20. Religion is poison to some

but others are helped by it - just like pretty much everything else in life.

Jimmy Carter is pretty devout, and he doesn't appear to me to have been morally poisoned. On the other hand, the most loving, giving, and kind person I know is an atheist. He was poisoned by religion as a child (byi his own account (I wasn't there) and for him atheism was the antidote.

Certain drugs can help people mentally, emotionally, and morally improve. For others, the same drugs are poisonous.

I will gladly agree that religion, when mixed with government and used as a hammer to beat citizens into compliance - that's poison. No question about it.

However, there are religious people in government respect and support church-state separation and, instead of trying to push religion into government, work to meet the needs of all citizens. Mostly you (and I) don't know who they are, because they just practice their religion, instead of making it a nuicance for everyone. I believe Jow Biden is one of them.
