The politicians aren't expected represent us, we are supposed to represent them! We are expected to worry more about their success then they do about our survival. We can't criticize the leadership for rolling over, for being weak and ineffective, we are supposed to attack each other.
Burned out, struggling to survive, beaten down and betrayed - none of that is any excuse! We will get lectures that we are being "defeatist." Compare that to the endless list of excuses thrown around for the failures of the leadership, the ones who have all of the money and influence, the ones who aggressively control the narrative and the strategy. No, we have all kinds of excuses for them.... it was lazy voters, it was the Green Party, it was the media, it was racism, it was misogyny, it was stupidity, it was Arabic people in Dearborn... Gosh! Who could have anticipated any of that??
US politics has become all about punching down and never about punching up.The only disagreements are over exactly whom down there we should be punching.
