Thanksgiving Dinner Prices Fall To Lowest Point In Decades [View all]

Despite all of the misinformation spread by Republicans in Donald Trump's orbit, we are now learning that Thanksgiving is at its most affordable point in years. According to a nationwide survey of grocery prices prepared by the American Farm Bureau Federation, the cost of this year's Thanksgiving meal is now at its lowest level since 2021.

And, when adjusted for inflation, the numbers get even better. According to that same organization, 2024 now is the cheapest Thanksgiving meal in nearly 40 years:

“If your dollar had the same overall purchasing power as a consumer in 1984 … this would be the least expensive Thanksgiving meal in the 39-year history of the AFBF Thanksgiving survey, other than the outlier of 2020"

The current cost of this year's Thanksgiving meal comes in at approximately $58.08 for a 10-person dinner, which represents just about $5.81 per person. That number has fallen 5% just in the past year
