(1,420 posts)A dozen Grade A large eggs, 1.53. Half what it used to be, around here, five years ago. I haven't seen grocery prices going up much, but eating out? Wow. They're really getting you there. My mother always wants to eat when we go out, but I resist because one, it's bad for me, and two, I can't stand seeing how much stuff costs, at any fast food place. From commercials, I see regular restaurants are outrageous.
I think gas was 1.83 or something at most places. I consider that very low, and it's sticking around. I'd guess fuel oil prices will go up for winter, but otherwise, reasonable.
I highly doubt we'll be seeing prices like this six months from now. I don't know what we'll do, oldest son and I are still living together, neither can afford to do it alone. I hope he keeps his job, because we'd be sunk without it (he works at Walmart). Thankfully, crappy mobile home and the land it sits on are paid for, we just need to pay taxes and electric bill.
