Thule Air Force Base (no matter what it's called now) is in a remote and desolate area. She will mostly be indoors, with a brief walk outside to experience it (cold, ennit?). She and Veepie will receive (unclassified) presentations on the mission of the place, beyond being a place to send airmen who screw up elsewhere.

She could get the same experience and knowledge by viewing the presentations on a Signal chat room from the comfort of a ski lodge in Vermont.
