10. I've been warning my youngest son and daughter-in-law

My grand-daughter is a special-needs child. She's been labeled legally blind and deaf on one ear (like her grandmother) . Though nearly five-years old, she's not spoken a word yet due mainly to being tubed, and then trached up until last fall. She's bright knows her letters and numbers, can identify any animal or object you throw at her but obviously she'll need continuous help with speech and her educational needs going forward.

If these funds and programs are cut, Cassandra's opportunity to lead a functional and independent life will be greatly reduced. The idea that anyone would suggest eliminating this vibrant, ever-smiling little girl makes my head explode.

There are plenty of mothers and fathers and grandparents who will hit the streets to protect these children.

They come for our babies, we come for them!
