Tuberville wants to kill the TSA [View all]

I just received this email from Tuberville :

Coach Tuberville here…

Every day, millions of Americans head to the airport to travel for work or vacations, and every day millions of Americans run into the bureaucratic nightmare that is the Transportation Security Administration, or TSA. Over the past two decades, it has ballooned into an over-bloated, inefficient agency of 60,000 employees. It is slow-moving, perpetually outdated, highly resistant to innovation and modernization, and simply ineffective. Put simply, the TSA provides minimal security benefits while infringing on Americans’ personal liberties and wasting their tax dollars.

We must focus on smarter, more effective methods to protect our country without sacrificing the liberties that make America great. That is why I have joined my good friend, Senator Mike Lee of Utah, in introducing the Abolish TSA Act. The privatization of airport security will allow for more targeted, streamlined, and accountable solutions to airport security. I hope more of my Senate colleagues will join us as we fight to put Americans’ liberties and safety first.

Typical magat think...... if something inconveniences me just kill it instead of working to improve it. Yes, it's a pain waiting through the security line (I usually have to fly out of Atlanta when I travel), it's an even bigger pain waiting in line to get through customs (the last time I flew internationally it took 2 hours to get through the customs line and that was at 11 PM - they were woefully understaffed). But damn, are we just gonna' let every redneck yahoo take his gun on planes?
