(10,893 posts)should immediately set off red flags on a site for Democrats. Like when people say that it won't matter if the R's control all 3 branches, nothing could be further from the truth when you look at the GOP's overall agenda versus that of the Dem party. Also, not voting for the D's in the GE if (insert candidate's name) becomes the nominee would mean one less vote, which could make a huge difference in a competitive election. Not voting at all means ones less vote. The ultimate goal of this site is to get more Democrats elected, and that task becomes harder as less of us vote. It tells me that people who say those things might have other motives than necessarily seeing a Democrat win.
I don't have much to add to your list, but I especially liked the 99% part of it. That could not be emphasized enough. The so-called 99% doesn't have the same interests in mind, even though we all would be benefited by progressive policies. A huge portion of the 99% is not sympathetic to typical progressive causes like voting rights, expanded health care, or seeing stiffer regulations of food production or the environment (even though those things are meant to benefit them). Meanwhile, there are so-called 1%ers who do advocate those positions. That was one of my biggest problems with the Occupy Movement.
