(5,648 posts)The Japanese made a huge mistake by bombing Pearl Harbor; that attack aroused a sleeping tiger. Their mistake was magnified by the fact that we were lucky that none of our aircraft carriers were in port January 7, 1941. The US did not attack the Japanese, Quite the opposite, the Japanese intent was to cripple our entire Pacific fleet leaving us defenseless against them. They failed and they paid heavily for their mistake.
However, the point I was making was that as much as some of us hate war, sometimes it is necessary to defend ourselves. Your post shows that you know enough about the History of World War II to understand that had never been attacked, and we had elected to sit out the war, the world would be a far different place today. Some here don't have enough knowledge to understand that.
