2. Yes indeed the

swingers swung before the rockers rocked. The stories of the "girl singers" for the various big bands is really a great thing to check out. So many of them began on their local radio stations and then if they were lucky a band coming through might hear them. The days of train travel, all night diners, nightclubs with little tables with a small light or a candle, hatcheck/coatcheck "girls" etc. A very different time. When I watch the old black and white movies from the '30's and '40's I see those actresses in such beautiful, unique, well designed dresses and the great unique earrings it all just knocks me out. The wardrobe people for those movies really knew how to put a whole look together. The actresses knew how to move also without looking like they're clomping along like so much of what I see today.
