(9,825 posts)Voting NO is a vote for Newsom therefore you shouldn't select another candidate.
If he loses, he will in all likelihood lose to the Republican front runner anyway. This is because Democrats have no clear front runner and that will split the vote across the candidates leading Larry Elder to a win. So it's basically a moot point.
And as you said....
"If Newsom was recalled, the state legislature could pass a law that any governor appointing anyone to Congress must pick someone from the same political party that vacated the office. Easy fix, actually. We have supermajorities in both houses of the legislature so the new Governor couldn't even make a veto hold up. I've decided that I'm not going to choose a replacement. Either he beats this or we get a pretty ineffectual Republican for just over a year.
Does that sum it up or am I still not getting this?
