7. staying on topic is hard for some people at times

Example in thread a couple days ago:
-
Some person (a despised person) was quoted as having said something that I found to be "truthful enough"
-
most of the thread was spent yelling about the despised person and not whether what he said had any validity
-
-
a "protected" area at times is needed to have some sort of reasonable discussion without having it hijacked.
-
the danger is that it becomes insulated, not that I am saying this is, or is not
-
I have no problem saying, "I don't know". : )
