Giving Up Coffee [View all]

It's been a couple of weeks since my family has given up coffee.

(I'm in the "Kill Your Darlings" school of cost savings.)

We've been drinking this in the morning instead:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Value-Black-Tea-Bags-8-oz-100-Count/10315396

100 teabags for less than 2 bucks.

Pros: More hydrated!
Cons: Less awake!

Pros: Save $520 dollars a year
Cons: ...tea bags..no big deal really.

Pros: Freedom from addiction
Cons: Missing that little window of peak caffeination-productivity.

Pros: We feel better. Less mood swings.
Cons: Sleepy!

Pros: Possible improved carbon, water footprint
Cons: I'm still pretty sleepy!

Coffee culture is HUGE here. And people are so fetishistic about what beans they will or will not accept, what brewing methods are acceptable to them. I'm happy to not participate in that marketing pscyops. I am not my choice of coffee.

Have you given up coffee? Would you want to? What would change your mind?
