(74 posts)There weren't any "explosions" at the base of the tower other than the fireball/jet fuel conflagration that occurred immediately after impact. Explosions cause blunt-body damage when shock waves hit soft tissue - nobody died from blunt body trauma cause by expanding shock waves in the lobby of WTC 1 or 2 - OR the Pentagon, for that matter. If anyone had died from blunt body trauma from expanding shock waves from a conventional explosion, the whole world would have known about it and it would have been common knowledge. It didn't happen. There are people who said that whole event "sounded like a train". Are you going to argue that because someone said it "sounded like a freight train" that a train was running through lower Manhattan that morning?
