Actually the national polls were pretty close, off by a point or two. Just because you really want to believe something, doesn't actually make it true. And the state polls were in line with historical averages going back to 1972.
Yes Clinton was more likely to win than not, but it a small lead with a high number of undecided voters, didn't mean Clinton had some insurmountable lead in the polls.
Please actually bother to go look at the polling data, especially the 538 data, and you will see that you're wrong on this.
