(14,255 posts)66. Nailed it perfectly. Those groups are merely fan clubs with a side of online "slam books".
Reminds me of what I heard somewhere about the Clintons keeping careful tabs on who crossed them.
If we actually went into some of those groups just to check on what they were saying, and then pulled posts over that offended us so we could jeer at them - that is what, IMO, those groups really do.
Echo chamber, fan clubs, junior high slam books.
An awful lot of GD OPs, IMO, belong in those gated groups.

I tend to agree. The AA group, BOG group, PUMA group, etc. are unhealthy in general
