"We're the first ones to starve, we're the first ones to die [View all]

"Dropkick Murphys The Workers Song"

"We're the first ones to starve, we're the first ones to die
The first ones in line for that pie-in-the-sky
And we're always the last when the cream is shared out
For the worker is working when the fat cat's about"

We have to push Union. Music is the best way to get people to remember. To be interested. It was this commercial that first brought Unions to my consciousness. I was just a kid and I still remember every word. I remember being so happy there are women out there that were organized and being heard.

Look for the Union Label 1978 ILGWU

Unfortunately, the ILGWU no longer exists. It merged with by the ACTWU and became UNITE. But for 95 years it was one of the strongest Unions around.
