Democratic Primaries

(58,785 posts)as they always intended. Hillary was in fact a very satisfactory second choice for almost all. They told interviewers so.
The other, unfortunate quarter either voted for Trump (HALF of these!) or acted out their hostility and rejection by voting for another candidate, most claiming they'd been cheated, "rigged," and driven away, Hillary was corrupt, etc. Rubbish.
Pretense that they didn't come into 2016 intending just that was blasted every time those studying them asked them what they'd do. They wanted everyone to know they implicitly believed all Sanders lies and their rejection of the Democratic Party. DU was the only place where they had to watch their words.
And now this minority of Sanders followers once again came into 2019 openly declaring their intention of voting to defeat Democrats if Sanders wasn't the nominee. We know that, again, WHY? Because they SAY so, every time pollsters and others gave them a chance to blab their attitudes and intent. DU's the only place those who might come here need to hide what they are.
Here's a clue to who's who: Good liberal Democrats like the 3/4 may be irritated by comments but they won't be irritated into abandoning their liberal principles and goals out of spite and more than the rest of us. That's what principles mean.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
