It will all come down to the bread on our tables
Even El Salvador's president questioned Trump team on if migrants being sent were actually gang members.
'El Salvador President Nayib Bukele asked the Trump administration for evidence that the 238 Venezuelans deported to his countrys maximum-security prison last month were actually part of a notorious gang, according to a report.
'While Bukele and President Donald Trump appeared to be on the same page at last months meeting in the Oval Office, Bukele privately expressed concern about who the Trump administration sent to El Salvadors Terrorism Confinement Center, known as CECOT, according to The New York Times'

Doug Emhoff fired from Holocaust Memorial Museum Board by DJT
As the daughter of a Holocaust survivor, I am horrified and furious about this news, which falls in line with the DJT administration's deeply ingrained anti-Semitism, sadism, racism and politically driven revenge:
[Reported by Lauren Gambino of The Guardian, 4/29/25]
'Doug Emhoff, the husband of former vice president Kamala Harris, accused the Trump administration of turning one of the worst atrocities in history into a wedge issue, after he and other Joe Biden appointees were removed from the board of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum.
Emhoff, who is Jewish and spoke passionately against the rising tide of antisemitism during his time as the Second Gentleman, said he was informed on Tuesday that he had been removed from the museums council.
Let me be clear: Holocaust remembrance and education should never be politicized. To turn one of the worst atrocities in history into a wedge issue is dangerous and it dishonors the memory of six million Jews murdered by Nazis that this museum was created to preserve, he said.
No divisive political decision will ever shake my commitment to Holocaust remembrance and education or to combatting hate and antisemitism. I will continue to speak out, to educate, and to fight hate in all its formsbecause silence is never an option.
The New York Times reported that the Trump administration also fired Ron Klain, Bidens first chief of staff, Susan Rice, national security adviser to Barack Obama and Bidens top domestic policy adviser, and Tom Perez, the former labor secretary who was a senior advisor to the former president.'
DJT's 2nd term's 1st 100 days -- The beginning of the end
"If Trumps polling trends continue, his second term may end up being an example of a presidency fueled by policy-through-executive-order, with the president having failed to achieve anything meaningful through Congress."
" The Presidents two biggest issues are now the areas where hes losing the most support. Thats a problem for Republicans in Congress."

Dem. Sen. Chris Van Hollen stands up for Abrego Garcia
[Chris Stein of The Guardian reports on April 14, 2025]:
'Democratic senator Chris Van Hollen of Maryland will travel to El Salvador this week to visit his constituent Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia if he is not released from detention and returned to the United States.
'Van Hollen also requested that El Salvadors president Nayib Bukele meet with him during his visit to Washington DC to discuss Abrego Garcias return.'
Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia never should have been abducted and illegally deported, and the courts have made clear: the administration must bring him home, now. However, since the Trump Administration appears to be ignoring these court mandates, we need to take additional action, Van Hollen said in a statement.
"Thats why Ive requested to meet with President Bukele during his trip to the United States, and if Kilmar is not home by midweek I plan to travel to El Salvador this week to check on his condition and discuss his release."
'When he met Donald Trump in the Oval Office earlier today, Bukele said he would not return Abrego Garcia to the United States or release him from prison in El Salvador'.
The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression re: Khalil
The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression: Allowing a single government official sweeping and nearly unchecked power to pick and choose individuals to deport based on beliefs alone, without alleging a single crime, crosses a line that should never be crossed in a free society, said legal director Will Creeley. The only crime the government has offered was that Mahmoud Khalil expressed a disfavored political opinion. If thats a crime in America, every single one of us is guilty.

So many tears for Khalil and Garcia... and for the demise of our once democratic country.
Booker ends his record speech in a mighty blaze!
Cory Booker's final words after 25 hours on the floor...
I dont know how to solve this, I dont know how to stop us from going down this road, Booker concluded. But I know who does have the power. The people of the United States of America. The power of the people is greater than the people in power.
Lets get in good trouble, Booker ended, referencing his mentor the late congressman John Lewis.

Brava and Amen, Tammy Duckworth!!
'Senator Tammy Duckworth of Illinois released a statement calling for defense secretary Pete Hegseths resignation':
"Pete Hegseth is a f*cking liar. This is so clearly classified info he recklessly leaked that couldve gotten our pilots killed. He needs to resign in disgrace immediately, reads the statement.
Hegseth and every other official who was included in this group chat must be subject to an independent investigation. If Republicans wont join us in holding the Trump Administration accountable, then they are complicit in this dangerous and likely criminal breach of our national security.

Brave Minnesota veteran speaks out vs DoGE
(Reported by Rachel Leingang, The Guardian, 3/21/25):
'A Minnesota veteran who found work at the Veterans Benefits Administration after suffering two traumatic brain injuries on overseas deployments stood in front of hundreds of people and five Democratic state attorneys general on Thursday night and recalled the moment she learned she lost her job.
All I was given was a Post-it note, Joy Marver said, inspiring gasps and boos from a raucous crowd. The Post-it note contained just the HR email address and my supervisors phone number. This came from an external source. Doge terminated me. No one in my chain of command knew I was being terminated. No one knew. It took two weeks to get my termination email sent to me.
The firing was so demoralizing she said she considered driving her truck off a bridge but instead went into the VA for crisis care.
Dont fuck with a veteran, she concluded.
