Cochlear implants?

I have worn hearing aids since I was 40 (71 now). Just had my hearing tested for new hearing aids and they recommended that I get the test for cochlear implants because I have "profound" hearing loss. Does anyone have them? I don't know that much about them except there is a learning curve. Does anyone have websites that they would recommend? Or any advice?

Question re: enhanced drivers licenses

When it came time to get my license renewed I wanted to get an enhanced one. So I went to the Sec of State got all of my paperwork out including my birth certificate and my two marriage changes for my name and everything else and she said she couldn't give me one because my birth certificate first name was spelled different by one letter than EVERY other document. I have a passport (now expired and am going to get it renewed) but wanted to not take that with me for domestic flights and because the drivers license is cheaper to renew. So either I cannot get an enhanced drivers license or I have to go to a judge to get my birth certificate changed. That's what she said.... And I am asking if anyone here knows if she was just being a stickler or what???

Self propelled electric lawn mowers

Our electric lawnmower just went kaput and I want to get a self propelled electric lawn mower. Any suggestions or recommendations would be of help. Thanks
