Just yesterday, I saw a new ad campaign for Pull-Ups training pants.
It features a talking drop of urine and a pile of poop with a vaguely British accent. The emojis are sitting on a roll of toilet paper, discussing how proud they are of a child learning to use the bathroom. They even have names - Yureen and Terd.
Seriously???!!! I thought the Dude Wipes commercial was gross enough. No dignity, no sophistication.

Seeing how fast Petey-boy's mother recanted her very damning letter made me wonder if her husband threatened her if she didn't disavow what she now claims was written in haste.
It would not be in the least surprising if the son learned his shitty attitudes from watching how his father treats his mother.
A surprise positive reaction to my Comma-la T-shirt.
My husband and I stopped at a local, only-one-of-its-kind family owned sub shop that we like about noon today. While we were waiting for our order, a young woman seated at one of the very few tables said, "I like your shirt!"
I had on my long-sleeved, dark gray with white lettering Comma-la T-shirt. The comma is quite large, looking like a 9, with the "la" in the middle of the round part - like this one: https://www.etsy.com/listing/884508173/comma-la-t-shirt-kamala-harris-tshirt
We chatted a bit, and I showed her cell phone pics of my blue wave cat lady shirt. I'm not childless, but have 4 cats besides our 2 in-their-early-30s sons. She liked that shirt, too.
I say surprise reaction because we live in the 1 of the 5 Chicago/Cook County collar counties that is red rather than blue. A few years ago, our own town was specifically mentioned in a local news article as a stronghold for Republicans. I've been a little cowardly about wearing these shirts out in public because of this, often camouflaging it a bit by wearing my shoulder bag purse across my chest, but I kind of forgot I had it on today. I explained my hesitancy, and she said she understood.
The young man she was with listened to our conversation with a smile on his face, and said now he wouldn't worry about wearing a shirt like mine out and about.
I told them they had made my day. 
Harris-Walz sign stolen. Returned by a neighbor.
We've had 3 signs in our yard - the Harris Walz sign, and 2 local signs for county board and state house rep.
The Harris-Walz sign went missing about a week ago. A couple of days later, we found it sitting on the seat of one of the chairs on our front step, and when my husband checked pictures on our doorbell security camera, we could tell the person returning was a friend/neighbor 3 houses down.
When my husband went to thank our neighbor, it turned out that this man had footage of the "perps" who took our sign because they had dropped it next to his driveway as they made their getaway - 2 boys on bikes who looked to be middle school age. He showed it to a couple of families across the street, who have kids in that age group, but no one knew who they were (or didn't want to tell).
Before the sign was returned, my husband had notified the police, and was told that there were many reports of Democratic campaign signs being taken. Our yard is the only one in our housing development with any signs out.
We live in one of the "collar counties" that surround Chicago and Cook County, and our county, McHenry, is the only one of the 5 that is red. So, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised by all this. I doubt these little thugs-in-training would have done this if they didn't have parents who probably have FOX on all day. Nice values you are teaching your kids there, mom and dad - it's OK to:
1. trespass
2. steal
3. interfere with someone's freedom of speech
I briefly entertained the idea of hanging out near the middle school bus stop for a couple of mornings, carrying our sign, to see who might get a tell-tale "Oh, shit" expression on his face.
When we first put the signs out, I suggested to my husband that we put the Harris-Walz sign in one of our windows rather than in the yard, precisely to prevent it from being taken, but he poo-pooed that idea. After it was returned, guess who said, "Let's put it in the window." I nobly resisted the temptation to say, "Told you so."

Paralympics - Blind soccer/football is blowing my mind.
I didn't even know, until yesterday, that such a thing existed. The ball emits sounds while in motion, and the spectators must remain silent, unless a goal is scored, so the players can hear the ball. Running at all, without being able to see, is amazing enough. Being able to find, kick, and aim the ball is astounding. 4 field players to a side, who wear eye covers so that those with any residual sight to not have any advantage over those with no vision. The goalie is allowed to have some vision.
And swimming without arms! Archery without arms!
Watching these athletes is both inspiring and humbling.
If the MSM were truly interested in one of the BIGGEST STORIES EVER...
...wouldn't that story be the election of the USA's first female president, who also is a person of color? And if they were really interested in as big story as that story would be, wouldn't it make sense to be doing everything possible to play up her candidacy instead of looking for things to disparage and complain about?
Wouldn't a massive blue wave/landslide election be a hell of a story?
Trump is a known quantity who always says the same old shit every time he opens his yap. Nothing new here.
It must have felt soooooooooooooooooo damn good to the Obamas...
..to finally be able to speak out on their disgust and distaste for Trump. And they did it without going low.
I cannot imagine how agonizing it must have been for them to have to welcome that POS into the White House and to attend that inauguration. Had I been Mrs. Obama, I don't know that I could have made myself go unless I were tranquilized almost to unconsciousness. I'd have wanted to call in sick - and it wouldn't have been a lie. I was sick at heart.
