GaYellowDawg's JournalIf anyone in here is from Hamblen County...
The Hamblen County Democratic Party has a new slate of officers. On their behalf, I'd like to invite anyone from here who isn't already actively participating to do so. The HCDP is having our second rally in 3 weeks this Saturday, in front of Morristown East. We will park at the Talley-Ward Building. If you want to come, but don't have signs, we are bringing some extra blank posterboards and markers and will be present at 11:30 AM. The protest will last from 12-2 and is part of the 50501 nationwide movement to uphold the Constitution and end executive overreach. The last protest was better received than we expected, and we were not harassed beyond a few catcalls and one coal-smoke blowing (clearly overcompensating) diesel pickup who was ticketed after his second drive-by.
Thank you for the hearts!
I'm very pleasantly surprised. Just know you made my day!
As a thank-you, I'll share a funny Valentine's Day anecdote. My wife adores chocolate, and she told me that she didn't want me buying a lot of candy this Valentine's Day. So I got her a 3-pound Hershey bar and said, "I only got you one piece of candy!"
I think I'm the most upset with the COVID virus.
We could have been rid of Trump in October 2020. Biden's election would have been even more resounding. No election denial. No January 6. No one for the most toxic elements and people in Republican land to coalesce around. No one to energize R's from 2020-2024. No one to enable Musk and the techbros to this extent. A likely Democratic presidency in 2024.
Dammit, COVID, you had one job.
The TRUMP TAX
That's what we need to call the tariffs. Every single Democratic politician needs to call the tariffs the Trump Tax every single time they're on camera. No matter what the product is, or the topic is, we need to hear that "Everyday Americans are hurting from the Trump tax."
I'm sick and fucking tired of the post-election "why Democrats lost" bullshit.
If you knew so GOT DAMN MUCH, then why the fuck didn't you get off your ass and tell the Harris campaign so that we could win it? Nope, better to do jack shit and then try to pick apart the people who actually got out there and tried it.
In the South, it's the churches.
They have so thoroughly convinced themselves that Trump is God's anointed representative and that the assassin's bullet was guided away by God. They honestly thought a vote for Trump was a vote for God.
If there are elections in the future, there will never be another win by a Democratic candidate for the president in Southern states that are mostly Christian. I don't know how Georgia 2020 happened, but it was a complete aberration and will never happen again.
Damn.
Trump in office. I'll bet that JD Vance will just him by 2026.
RFK Jr in charge of everything related to healthcare.
EPA, DOE, NOAA, gone.
Hershel Walker in charge of NORAD.
Ukraine and NATO abandoned, and Russia will run wild in Europe.
Tax breaks for the wealthy and tariffs jacking up taxes that will destroy everyone else.
A Supreme Court supermajority that will last for decades.
Things will be "fixed" so that fundamentalists don't have to vote any more.
Every criminal from J6 pardoned.
Every single adversary of Trump will be under attack by a malevolent Justice Department that won't resemble its name.
It wouldn't surprise me to see lynchings of Democrats begin in deep red states.
Project 2025 will sink its claws deep, deep into America.
There will be buyer's remorse, but it will be far too late. This country will be fundamentally changed to a greater extent than any time since its inception.
I don't know how I'm going to make it. I would hope to make it to the next presidential election, but absolutely no guarantee there will be one.
I wish that asshole in Butler had been able to shoot straight. Even if there had been MAGA uprisings afterwards, we wouldn't lose the entire country in one night.
I'm watching Luke Beasley on YouTube.
It's less stressful for me than MSNBC or CNN.
