My friend's daughter came out on Facebook with this song....

I never heard it before, but it's awfully damn cute.

Get ready to be kicked in the feels by a song...

A young boy who knows he's in the wrong body. A father who can't accept. A mother who will do whatever is necessary to protect her child. An ending you may not see coming.

Straight high schooler invites gay best friend to prom

http://www.newnownext.com/straight-high-schooler-invites-gay-best-friend-to-the-prom/04/2015/

It’s prom season, so we expected to read a lot of stories about lonely teenagers asking celebrities to be their dates.

What we didn’t expect is the totally awesome Jacob Lescenski of Las Vegas to ask his best friend Anthony Martinez to prom.

Jacob is straight, and Anthony is gay, but Jacob figured who better to go to the dance with than someone he considers a brother?

Jacob popped the question by unfurling a giant banner that read “You’re hella gay, I’m hella str8, but you’re like my brother so be my d8!”

Anthony is on the student council, and is often responsible for planning school dances, but lamented that he never gets asked to go.

Okay, I know this won't matter to anyone but me, and I hope you don't mind that I share....

Yesterday was a great day for me. Not only was it my birthday (don't ask, I'm old), but a book that I wrote with a woman in England came out on Audiobook!

It's like a gift to myself.

Blurb for my new book...

This is book two of the 'Shifting Needs' series. It's at the formatter/cover artist now.

Casey Scott grew up being told he’d never amount to anything, and despite the unwavering love and support from his best friend, Jake, the idea sticks in the back of Casey’s mind. When he discovers he has a unique destiny in an enclave where shifters and humans live together, he seizes the chance, wanting for once in his life to be someone special.

Tsvetok Yerokhin lost his parents to the evil ruler of the enclave when he was a boy. The responsibilities of raising his two younger brothers nearly overwhelmed him and self-doubt took over. When the new Alpha and his Protector arrive in time to save his life, Sev is grateful, but he’s even more shocked when he scents his mate with them.

Casey isn’t prepared for the feelings that sweep over him when he meets Sev, but he refuses to act on them because he’s straight. Still, there is something so alluring about Sev that Casey can’t help being drawn to him.

As the two explore the edges of their new discovery, an evil returns, determined to control the enclave or destroy it. The Alpha and Protector are powerless to stop it, but Casey holds the key to victory. If he can discover what it is, he has a chance to save them all. To be the hero.

Unfortunately, the hero has to be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice, and for Casey that means losing his heart.

(I have to admit.... when I was doing my listen-edits, I started crying at what my friend refers to as the 'black moment'. Yeah, I'm a big ol' ball of mush.)

How cool is this? Frog species that can change shape discovered by local researchers (photos)

http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2015/03/frog_species_discovered_by_loc.html

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A local graduate student and her husband have found a shape-shifting frog in Ecuador that changes its skin texture from spikey to smooth in mere minutes.

It is believed to be the first vertebrate identified that can do that, said Katherine Krynak, who is working toward a PhD in biology at Case Western Reserve University.

The new critter is called Pristimantis mutabilis (mutable rain frog) but Katherine and Tim Krynak call it punk rocker frog because of the spiked texture that it can present.

Tim, a project manager with the Cleveland Metroparks, said they first encountered the marble-sized amphibian in 2006 when they walked the trails of the Andean cloud forest in Ecuador.

"We were trying to document species of amphibians and saw the frog sitting on a moss-covered leaf," Tim said. "We took a photo of the small frog, but it wasn't until the photograph was enlarged on the computer that we could tell this frog was very different."

On a 2009 trip, they found what appeared to be the same species. "Katherine grabbed it and put it in a cup with a lid so we could take a picture later," he said.

I am so proud of Gardein...

They're constantly coming up with new products. The two new types of hand pockets are very good, and the new Kale and Barley pouches are excellent.

I hope to hell they don't go the direction of some of the other companies who used to do vegan items and sell out to a big corporation. That would suck.

We used to get Wheat Meat from (we think) Ivy Foods, which then went to White Wave, and then got discontinued.

A lot of the Morningstar Farms products which then went to Kellogg's.

So I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that Gardein stays wholesome and vegan and good.
