I just want to say that, no matter what happens, Kamala and team have run a brilliant race
This morning as I head off to the polls (I didn't vote early because my regular polling station is literally across the street from me) I'm so proud to be a Democrat. I know enough to know that no candidate with a ghost of a chance of winning will ever agree 100% with my positions and priorities. Compromise is woven into the fabric of democracy.. That's OK, better some compromises than a Civil War. At a time when MAGA Republicans seemingly prefer a Civil War to compromise, Kamala has been a steady beacon of sanity, hope, compassion and competence.
Go to discussionTrump's closing argument veers all over the place
(Politico) Donald Trumps closing message of his third presidential campaign, delivered here at his penultimate rally, was supposed to focus on the economy and immigration. It sort of did. But Trump also dissed one of his campaign's senior advisers, Susie Wiles, and appeared to preemptively blame his supporters if he loses the election. He revived talk of a migrant fighting league. He promoted anti-transgender rhetoric (later amplified by guest speaker Megyn Kelly, who was there to help sell Trump to female voters with whom he lags). And he called Jill Stein one of my favorite politicians and declared love for the Green Party as Democrats have warned third-party candidates could benefit Trump in this election.

(Huff Post) Donald Trump is closing out his election campaign by bringing up the fact that hed like to hit back at former first lady Michelle Obama. At a rally in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Monday, the GOP candidate asked a crowd of supporters whether he was allowed to hit her now after claiming that the former first lady had hit me an apparent reference to her recent speech calling Trump a criminal and an abuser.
Go to discussionOfficials brace for a flood of disinformation and legal claims as Election Day finally arrives
(NBC News) As Election Day finally arrives, election officials, legal experts and researchers are bracing for a flood of disinformation and legal claims as vote counting begins. The final week of the campaign featured three dynamics that could lead to a protracted legal dispute if the results are close, legal experts said. Scores of lawsuits have already been filed in battleground states, domestic and foreign actors are spreading false accounts of voter fraud, and former President Donald Trump continues to claim that the election will be rigged against him.
Go to discussionOhio sheriff's lieutenant who said he won't help Democrats deletes posts, apologizes
(USA Today) A sheriff's office in Springfield, Ohio is facing backlash after a lieutenant said on Facebook that he would not help Democrats. Lt. John Rodgers of the Clark County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook recently that he wanted proof of whom someone was voting for before helping them, according to the Springfield News-Sun. "I am sorry. If you support the Democrat Party I will not help you," one of Rodgers' since-deleted posts read, according to local station WHIO-TV. Another post stated "The problem is that I know which of you supports the Democratic Party and I will not help you survive the end of days." Rodgers has since deleted his Facebook account and apologized for his comments. The sheriff's office did not immediately reply to USA TODAY's request for comment Monday.
