I am not sure if this is good news or bad. The whole article is behind the WSJ paywall so I can't read all the details.
Breaking: WSJ says Comcast IS "moving forward with a plan to spin off its NBCUniversal cable TV networks." The company "will separate off entertainment and news channels including MSNBC, CNBC, USA, Oxygen, E!, Syfy and Golf Channel..."

It is November 2024, and major media has already failed in covering the Trump administration.
For instance, Mike Johnson and Tom Homan have now admitted the mass deportations Trump promised to get the presidency won't happen.
It's a broken promise media won't cover to avoid angering Trump voters.

The new Trump immigration policy is merely to deport illegal immigrants with a criminal record. That is what Obama and Biden did. If that had been known by voters to be the Trump plan, there would have been no basis to distinguish the two parties on immigration and Trump might have lost. So he lied.
So what do you guys think? Will this assuage the Latino voters who did vote for Trump? Will Trumps MAGA base be upset? How is this going to be accomplished? Will Trump clear out the jails to make room for journalists or his perceived enemies? Was this just a ruse to get the rubes to vote for him so the Republicans can move on with the real agenda? Emptying out the treasury and killing off entitlement programs? And lastly, do we just have to give up on MSM and acknowledge that they are ultimately the servants of the corporations who own them?
Love to know your thoughts.

What do you think the chances are that they will turn on each other?
I keep thinking about all of the narcissists, egos, and testosterone we have going on at the top. There is the supreme narc, Donald Trump, and the idiot dynasty of Don, Jr., et al. Then you have Elon Musk, who thinks he alone should populate the world, and has all the money in the world. J.D. Vance, protege of Peter Theil who espouses Curtis Yarvin and some type of New World Order. And lastly, RFK, Jr. the batshit crazy spawn of the Kennedy's who is convinced somehow he is entitled to his place in history because of his family.
What could go wrong here? 
Rarely is the question asked: Is our children learning?
After the results of this election, I along with George Bush, have to ask this question again. I see recriminations of every stripe on what democrats missed. But it is very difficult to communicate complex ideas and ask for critical thinking when the general populace has no knowledge of history or how the government works.
I do not think that now we will ever go back to teaching civics and actual history. I often think about those Schoolhouse Rock videos we used to watch as kids. I'm Just a Bill on Capitol Hill, Sufferin' for Suffrage. Wouldn't it be great if some of those liberal actor or musician donors would put some money in to revamping these? They could be distributed on social media, tiktok, instagram. I know I learned a lot from them and I can still sing some of those songs. The shot heard round the world was the start of the revolution.......
There has to be some way to reach people so they do not drown in ignorance and misinformation. But maybe it is too late.
I thought I was handling the countdown to the election ok
Last night I woke myself up screaming. I rarely have nightmares. I was in the middle of a MAGAT riot, and was being chased down and hunted by a raging armed man in a red MAGA hat. I guess this is affecting me more than I thought.
Just watched Biden cast his vote for Kamala
He was asked if it was bittersweet. He said no, just sweet. He was also pushing the wheelchair of a fellow voter.
I love that man. How could anyone hate someone so decent?
The problem with cancelling Amazon
I cancelled my WaPo subscription, and have mixed feelings about that. I do not think Jeff Bezos cares at all about the paper, and I do worry about the good reporters there. However, there is a use for Amazon that makes it impossible for me to quit. I get my meds there.
My husband and I have been on Medicare for two years now. Not wanting to go down the road of Medicare Advantage, we picked the best gap plan G, and a decent drug plan. Our premiums for Medicare, the supplemental plan G, and the drug plan cost us $844.00 a month. Way more than I ever paid for similar coverage on the ACA. The drug plan is going up $80.00 for the two of us next year. And guess what? It doesn't cover either of the drugs we are on.
My husband uses an COPD type inhaler. He uses the generic, yet NO drug plan covers it. Nothing else works for him. I use a specific HRT drug, and that is also not covered, not even the generic. I guess neither of them are required to live, so do without. We now buy them both through Amazon pharmacy without using insurance. His medication costs 50 dollars a month, and mine 47. Without Amazon, we would be paying 300 and 100 a month respectively.
As much as I would like to quit Amazon, I don't know what we would do without them. This also begs the question of why Amazon can offer these drugs at reasonable prices, yet the insurance company I pay premiums for cannot.
It just seems as if the game is rigged, and we are dependent on the pittance the corporations are willing to give us peons.
What are your plans for election evening?
I noticed recently that I wake up every day anxious, and with dread. I realized it is due to the countdown to November 5. I am thinking of ways to actually handle that day, and probably days to weeks beyond with uncertainty.
What are your plans? Will you hunker down with the tv and internet that night monitoring results? Will you take off somewhere to get away from all of the noise? Will you spend the evening with some alcohol or Xanax? J/K. Just curious.

I am watching snippets of the documentary on child separation that MSNBC is too afraid to air before the election. I am heartbroken and livid that so called Christians support this policy. To hear the tapes of children crying for their mommies, daddies or aunties, and border agents trying to distract them makes me want to vomit. And this family values Christian nation is ok with this? Seriously? I mean after all, these children are subhuman, right? Those immigrants should have known better before they came. It's a great deterrent. And the millions of Republicans who say with a straight face that all of the vitriol DT spouts is just talk, he'll never do it. I have never been more ashamed of this country or mortified in my life. I cannot believe that such evil lives among us, and makes up 46 percent of the population. I am sick.
